Natural Diapers: Truth, Facts and Benefits for Infant and Family

Natural Diapers: Truth, Facts and Benefits for Infant and Family

As modern parenting has evolved and various natural diapers have hit the market, seasoned and new parents find themselves asking what natural diaper is best? Natural diapers are very popular as more people are turning to eco-friendly options. Apart from natural diapers being soft and durable, they are also capable of absorbing more urine, thus keeping your baby dryer. Switching to a diaper with natural ingredients that still perform and are made with medical-grade materials is a must, both for your baby and our planet.

We’ve listed a few reasons why Parasol Clear+Dry™ Natural Disposable Diapers are here to stay and why parents across America are raving about waving goodbye to diaper rash!

“My favorite diapers by far of all the diapers I have tried. My daughter has never had a diaper rash when using them. I am in love!” - Caroline

Four simple words of extraordinary change.

No…

As in no unhappy, unconsolable babies. It’s unnecessary and unacceptable to compromise a baby's well-being.

More…

As in a more highly engineered, more absorbent, more considered, more empathic diaper design and nurturing products that put baby’s well-being first.

Diaper…

As in revolutionary, super-soft fabrics with RashShield® protection that instantly wicks moisture away from baby’s sensitive skin to prevent the most common cause of diaper rash

Rash…

As in the red, scratchy, irritating, tear-causing, sleep-depriving, sensitive-skin condition that other diapers enable.

No more diaper rash.
Imagine that.

Diapers cause diaper rash?

Traditional disposable diapers are the most common culprits behind diaper rashes. For decades we were led to believe diaper rash should be treated with creams. But as we traveled the world to do our own research we found a way to treat and prevent rash, down to the core. Unbreathable diapers with irritating ingredients and materials paired with a bad and broken promise to keep your littles bum dry and capturing urine for hours is what causes skin irritation- diaper rash. The diapers we knew and trusted for decades had only focused on how to make parents' lives easier with minimum diaper changes; No one was advocating for our babies with sensitive skin. Over the decades, disposable diapers haven't evolved fundamentally, prioritizing convenience for parents over the well-being of babies. Despite being uncomfortably soggy, bulky, and scratchy, even the leading brands continuously expose a baby's delicate skin to moisture -- the most common cause of diaper rash.

Parasol Co was born to take care of just that - our unique diaper design with RashShield® protection. A softer, more absorbent, rash-free diaper. We advocate for your children, preserve our planet, and keep parenting as worry-free as possible.

Toxic chemicals used in traditional disposable diapers that you might not know:

1) Chlorine Bleach (dioxin), is a known carcinogen that bleaches the fabric to make it more white. According to the EPA, dioxins are highly toxic and products with dioxins took a long time to decompose;

2) Formaldehyde, is a chemical used to give plastic a hard finish. This substance is also found in fertilizers and pesticides

3) Fragrances and Dyes that add color to clothing and detergent but may have harmful effects when handled by humans;

4) Petroleum-based Adhesives that are used to keep tabs on diapers;

5) Petroleum-based Polymer Coating that is added to plastic pants to keep the diapers from leaking;

6) Tributyltin (TBT) - is a chemical that prevents bacterial growth. TBT does not degrade and remains in our ecosystem.

7.) Parabens - just like TBT, parabens are used to prevent mold and bacteria growth. It can cause harm to the skin.

Yikes! It takes time to research, evaluate, and many tryouts to find the truth about diapers.  Many parents are busy with new babies, lacking sleep and the last thing they want to encounter is unexpected issues caused by the baby products they used. Our job is to have that covered for you, let's dive into the Parasol Co differences.

Safe for baby, safe for mama earth

Parasol Co is committed to the health and safety of babies and our planet. The medical-grade materials we use to make our natural diapers include chlorine-free wood pulp, polypropylene nonwoven fabric, sodium polyacrylate polymer, polyethylene film, and latex-free, hygiene-grade elastic. We say NO to animal testing and our products do not contain any animal byproducts.

Comfort is of high importance

Babies can't tell you when they become uncomfortable. Can you imagine a wet bulky diaper sitting on your skin for prolonged hours? This is why our Clear+Dry™ Natural Disposable Diapers’ ultra-thin core is designed to be super absorbent and lock urine layers down away from the skin. The first top layer of the nonwoven fabric dries up within 60 seconds after baby urination. You don’t even know it is already soiled, the wetness indicator is there to tell you it is time for a diaper change! Our diaper core is also lighter and thinner.  Thanks to the nonstop innovation and the new technologies which help us to use the least amount of materials possible for even better performance. Thinner also means more comfort and allows ease of baby movement. Parasol babies definitely move fast and smile more, you can see that from all the photos we got from our true users!

Bye-bye diaper rash

Black and white modern prints are designed for our natural diapers and diaper pants, not just because we are fans of minimalism, but because they are effective at preventing diaper rash. Who knew?

We discovered that diapers with more vibrant, busy prints use oil-based color inks. Ink clogs the micropores of the fabric, preventing airflow, which causes babies' discomfort and discomfort to their well-being. Since a diaper cannot breathe, moisture can build up inside, leading to irritation and diaper rash.

It was our ‘aha’ moment to abandon the status quo color prints of popular diaper brands and march to a more caring drummer. We took the bold step of designing prints using only water-based, black ink and a 3D embossed printing process. This keeps the micropores of the outer fabric open to ensure airflow, ensuring your baby has a breathable diaper to prevent rashes. And, it puts a more modern, design-forward, and individual expression out into the world. We are never happier than when product design and aesthetic design combine with a purpose to create a meaningful solution.
